Scrap The Mag - Challenge #11

Ever since I found this beautiful Africa inspired paper by BoBunny called Safari a couple of weeks ago I had this layout title in my mind: "The Dream of Africa". One day, I thought, I will scrap this paper and title. And guess what, I looked at Scrap The Mag this morning and their challenge fits just what I had in mind for the layout. So, it was to be today and not some distant day in the future ... I love to be given a challenge, also in terms of deadline! Otherwise I keep on postponing all the time.

The challenge is to get inspired by a magazine page to create either a layout or a card and it does not matter "what" inspires you from the magazine, be it the color combination, the layout, the text, the photo or the illustrations. It is important though to recognize a connection between the two.

In my layout I tried to keep close to the color scheme, brownish background, pink letters; I also adopted the idea of the tree, however, in my layout I changed the type of tree. In addition, I also put the footage in the bottom part of the layout using different fonts/font sizes. And last, the title, though I used it in singular instead of plural.


Seit ich vor ein paar Wochen dieses wunderschöne afrikainspirierte Papier Safari von  BoBunny gefunden hatte, wußte ich genau, welchen Titel ich für das Layout verwenden würde: "Der Traum von Afrika". Irgendwann, so dachte ich, würde ich dieses Papier und diesen Titel scrappen. Und was ist passiert? Heute morgen schaute ich mir die Challenge von  Scrap The Mag an und fand die Inspiration, die ich für dieses Layout brauchte. Also würde dieses Layout nicht Wochen oder Monate warten müssen, sondern es sollte heute erstellt werden! Ich mag es, Layouts für eine Challenge zu erstellen, besonders was die Zeitfenster betrifft. Sonst würde ich ständig alles verschieben und nochmals verschieben.

Die Challenge war, sich von einer Zeitschriftenseite zu entweder einem Layout oder einer Karte inspirieren zu lassen. Dabei ist es ganz egal, wovon man sich inspirieren läßt, z.B. von der Farbzusammenstellung, dem Aufbau, dem Text, den Fotos und den Illustrationen. Wichtig ist dabei nur, dass man dies auch erkennen kann.

In meinem Layout habe ich versucht, mich an die Farbpalette zu halten, bräunlicher Hintergrund, rosafarbene Buchstaben. Ich habe auch die Idee des Baums übernommen, allerdings habe ich die Baumsorte verändert. Weiterhin habe ich den Text auch im unteren Teil des Layouts platziert und dabei verschiedene Schriftarten und -größen benutzt. Und zu guter Letzt habe ich einen Teil des Titels aufgegriffen, allerdings im Singular und nicht im Plural.

Desde que encontré  este papel tan bonito de BoBunny - Safari - con un diseño africano, sabía qué título iba a tener mi layout: "Soñando con África". Algún día, pensé, voy a hacer un layout usando este pápel y este título. ¿Y qué pasó? Hoy miré el concurso de Scrap The Mag y me dió la inspiración que necesitaba para mi layout. Así no tendría que esperar semanas o meses para terminarlo, ¡iba a ser hoy! A mi me gustan los concursos, especialmente el hecho de que tengan fechas de entrega. Si no, estaría posponiendo todo el tiempo. verschieben und nochmals verschieben.

El conurso se trata de dejarse inspirar por el layout de una página de una revista. No importa qué es que te inspira, es decir la combinación de colores, el layout, el texto, las fotos, o las ilustraciones. Lo que importa es que se puede ver una conección al final.

En mi layout intenté usar los mismos colores básicos, el marrón de fondo y rosa para las letras. También adopté la idea del árbol, aunque el mío es otro típo de árbol. Además puse el texto en la parte baja del layout usando diferentes tipos de letras. Y finalmente usé parte del título, pero en singular en vez de plural.
